Huge stock of firecrackers seized in Gajam

Ganjam:As part of its ongoing strategy to check illegal storage or sale of illegal firecrackers ahead of Diwali, the Ganjam Police on Thursday seized huge quantity of firecrackers from Nalabanta under Aska police limit.
According to source, six firecrackers-laden vehicles were seized by police near Nalabanta area under Aska in Ganjam district. While the police arrested one person, other nine people involved in the illegal transport managed to give the cops. The accused person could not produce any valid license or permission during the raid.
During the search, the team seized a huge cache of firecrackers worth over Rs 50 lakh and one Pick Up Van have been seized by the team.
Legal action against the accuse other linked persons/ suppliers shall be impose for violating the norms and selling firecrackers without any permission.
