BJP Mahila Morcha demands CBI probe into Archana Nag honey trapping case

Bhubaneswar: Odisha BJP Mahila Morcha has demanded a CBI probe into the Archana Nag honey trapping and blackmailing case.
BJP Mahila Morcha president Smruti Pattnaik, at a press conference here on Tuesday, alleged that the BJD was trying to suppress the matter as several party leaders and ministers were involved in the case. She alleged that the honey trapping and blackmailing of influential people were going on for the last several years.
Police arrested Archana Nag (28) on October 6 on the charge of blackmailing influential people and extorting crores of rupees from them after an Odia film producer lodged an FIR against her. The police seized mobile phone, laptop, pen drive and computer from her residence.
The film producer, in his FIR, alleged that Archana threatened to spoil his career and reputation by circulating his obscene photographs with a girl if he did not pay her Rs 3 crore.
Several leaders of various political parties, influential people and bureaucrats are involved in the case, the BJP leader alleged.
Smruti demanded that the Government should make public all information regarding the involvement of leaders, ministers, police and bureaucrats retrieved from the gadgets seized by the police.
Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police Prateek Singh said another woman had also lodged a complaint against Archana at Khandagiri police station on October 2, alleging that she was in possession of some of her obscene photos and was blackmailing her.
Archana had taken a few photos of the complainant’s private moments by forging a friendship with the latter. Subsequently, the accused woman started blackmailing her. Archana even forced the girl to blackmail Parija, the DCP added.
