ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF NARCOTIC DRUGS FOIL BY STF

Bhubaneswar:On the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by team of STF, Bhubaneswar with the help of Commissionerate Police by the side Sundarpada-Jatni road under Airfield Police Station, Bhubaneswar on 27.09.2022 against illegal transportation/possession of Narcotic Drugs and apprehended one drug peddler namely Umesh Behera S/o. Shyam Behera of Plot No.31, Forest Park,Bhubaneswar
During search contraband brown sugar weighing 01 kg 050 gm and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from his possession. The accused person could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which the accused person was arrested and is being forwarded to the court of District & Sessions cum Spl. Judge, Bhubaneswar. In this connection STF PS Case No.19 dated 27.09.2022 U/s 21(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 was registered. Investigation is on.
Special drive against narcotic drugs is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized more than 58 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine and more than 111 quintals of Ganja/Marijuna, Opium 750 gram and arrested more than 159 drug dealers/peddlers.
