Berhampur:The Silk Coty Berhampur of Ganjam district seems to be turning into a gambling den with rising number of cases of illegal “Jua adda” coming to fore.
Illegal activities to make quick bucks are rampant during festival season like Durga Puja. Two days back the Baidyanathpur Police, Berhampur have busted a major gamble den and arrested two dozen gamblers with seizure of Rs 5 lakhs from one Private Limited Company.
People have tick into not only another important trend is business of Sex racket at many Hotels /Private Houses,Appartments mainly at Gandhi Nagar area, Station Road,RLTank road,Gate Bazar of the city.
According to available information in past years, the city was well experienced more than 15 prime locations marked under different police limit and the owners cunningly running Sex business and gambling illegally with their own CCTV arrangement just to eye wash to Police.
Notably, This year during Puja festive the Berhampur Police is planning to raided for operating sex racket,gambelling,consuming Alcohol in open place with declaration of those houses/Establishment the police will seal those premises under section 18 (1) of Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, 1956 from the date of its actual attachment.
