FIVE HELD FOR ATTEMPT TO MURDER OVER PAST ENMITY IN BERHAMPUR

Berhampur: Baidyanathpur Police on Thursday arrested five criminals on charges of attempting to murder a businessman.
Acting on the FIR, we launched an investigation and arrested five persons and seized one Sword in presence of witnesses near Golapalli Pond, the Scotty of the injured has been seized from their possession of accused. They have been identified as;Tipu @Sultan Behera,Mantu Behera, Chotu Behera,Rajguru @ Guru and Chintamani Naik all are of Golapali street, Berhampur within Baidyanathpur Police limit, said SP Berhampur Saravana Vivek,M.
It may be recalled that,on 22.8.2022 at 6.30 PM Smt . Raju Ghadei ( 51) the Complainant W / O Late Arun Ghadei of Golapalli Harijan Sahi reported that On 21.8.2022 at about 10.45 PM her son Mitu was returning to his house after closing his shop in his Scooty.The accused Tipu @ Sultan Behera along with his brothers Mantu Behera, Chotu Behera Rajguru @ Guru Madhei and Chintamani Naik assembled at Scientific Nagar near Kalimandira road armed with sword . Seeing Mitu Ghadei returning in his Scooty , they stopped him with an intention to kill him , Tipu assaulted by sword on different parts of his body . Other accused persons also assaulted by Kati , fist blows and kicks . Due to the assault Mitu sustained severe bleeding injury on all over his body and fell down on the road.Accused persons fled away from the spot threatening Mitu Ghadai to kill . The accused Tipu Behera threw the sword in which he has assaulted to Golapalli Pond . Tipu was apprehend Thursday from Bhanjanagar . At 9.30 PM he was interrogated in presence of witnesses .
He confessed his guilt and led the Police Golapalli Tank and gave recovery of the sword which was used as weapon of offence in this case . The sword was seized near Golapalli Pond . The above noted accused persons arrested and being forwarded to court .
Notably,the accused Tipu and the victim’s mothers are sisters . They have previous enmity. Victim was threatening the accused that he would attack the him soon. Hence accused persons came together and attacked the Mitu Ghadei .
The culprits were booked under various sections, they produced in court. Efforts are on to nab the remaining suspects if any (!), added Vivek.
Prima facie, the incident seems to be fallout of the past rivalry and further investigation is underway.
