Fraudster Arrested For Duping Job Aspirants in Berhampur City

Berhampur:Acting on a tip off the Berhmapur Police have arrested one Ganesh Kumar Hota(34)of Mukteswar, Bila Sahi, Gate Bazar, Ps-Berhampur Town, and presently residing at   Hillpatna, Gopabandhu Nagar, 1st Lane, under the Gosaninuagaon police limit

According to IIC, Gosaninuagaon Ms.Smurtiprabha Pradhan ,the job  aspirant Godhuli Nayak of Hillpatna to deposit Rs40,000/-

After proper investigation finally The police have recovered Rs Cash of Rs. 40,000/- ,One Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle bearing Regd. No. OD-07-T-1145,Two numbers of mobile handsets.Incriminating documents relating to cheating and fraud from the possession of the accused. The police acted on the basis of a complaint lodged by Godhuli Nayak of Hillpatna in this matter, SDPO Vishnu Prasad Pati told

Further the investigation release make known in the month December 2021 the accused Ganesh Hota impersonating himself as a Railway employee induced the complainant to provide job of AccountsSection Officer in Indian Railway to her younger sister who was in quest of job. The accused demanded Rs. 60 thousand to the informant. On 02.12.2021 the informant transferred an amount of Rs. 15,000/- to the account of accused as advance and subsequently transferred Rs. 25,000/- to his PhonePe account in three instalments. The accused transmitted a fake appointment letter of Indian Railway to the WhatsApp number of the complainant in order to create faith on him. But later deleted (!) the same. He neither provided job to the sister of the complainant in Indian Railway nor refunded the amount of Rs. 40,000/- to the complainant. The complainant became convinced that the accused has cheated her and her sister and converted the amount to his own use.

During house search, several incriminating documents relating to cheating and fraud by the accused have been seized. The accused was arrested on Friday and cash of Rs. 40,000/-, one Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle, two mobile handsets have been seized from his possession. The cheated amount of Rs. 40,000/- has been handed over in zima of the complainant. The investigation of the case is in progress. It is requested through the Press and Electronic Media to circulate this in public so that the person who have come across the above noted accused and have been cheated by him to lodge formal complaint at Gosaninuagaon Police station
