Water Scarcity despite Tap near Home

Paralakhemundi-Be it urban or rural, government is trying to supply drinking water at door steps.But it is found that despite huge amount spent but people hardly get regular drinking water under Basudha scheme. Pipeline earthed & expanded widely but people in rural belt depending on ground water.That scared on various waterborne diseases.Complain hailed at authorities but they ignored defiantly. At Nuagada block of interior Puturpada village,where more than 500 people are living are feeling scarcity of drinking water. Since years together they are suffering to get drinking water supply.There are 3 tubewells but 2 tubewells not functioning. Hardly that lone tubewell not supports to huge population. Moreso contaminated water flowing from that tubewell.Even water tank facilities not completed. Nor any milestone on marking of start & end of work found. Exact budget of drinking water supply ignored to villagers. Those pipeline spread are of low qualities. Standposts too broken. Neither contractor nor authorities seen for remedial measures of such issues. Rather near village ghat villagers use both for refreshment & drinking to that ground water. While interacted to Prabhakar Muni, concerned Engineer, he said that lack of labourers available for completion of the work. Still he assured to complete the work soon.
