KOTIA, 76 PERCENT VOTES; 13 PERCENT MORE THAN PREVIOUS PANCHAYAT ELECTIONS

Koraput: In Koraput district, the polls have been held peacefully in three blocks. The Kotia residents have responded strongly to panchayat election.The turnout was 76 percent, compared to 63 percent in the last panchayat election.  “It’s 13 percent higher than last time,” he said.  In Kotia, the election was held with great discipline, the district collector said.  Voting took place in the Koraput, Patangi and Jeypore blocks of the district.

“Once all the ballot boxes are in place, that can be even greater,” he said.The people of 13 wards of Kotia panchayat are very happy to have participated in the panchayat elections.
