EOW freezes Rs 17 Crs. of Sambandh Finserve Pvt Ltd

Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing, Bhubaneswar has frozen over Rs 17 crore in 47 accounts of Sambandh Finserve Private Limited maintained with different nationalised and private banks.

EOW sources said here on Friday during the investigation into a case registered against Sambandh Finserve Private Limited, its MD Deepak Kindo and others, it identified 47 accounts maintained with different nationalised and private banks and froze the available balance. The frozen amount totalled Rs 17.10 crore.

A case had been registered following an allegation of fraudulently availing loan to the tune of Rs 5 crore on the basis of forged documents by Sambandh Finserve Private Limited from Annapurna Finance Private Limited and misappropriation of the same.

During the investigation, it was found that Sambandh Finserve Private Limited represented through its MD Deepak Kindo, in a similar manner, had fraudulently raised funds of more than Rs 100 crore from different investors/lenders including Annapurna Finance Private Limited (the complainant company), DCB Bank, Small Industries Development Bank of India, BOPA PTE Limited (a Singapore-based company) and DIA Vikash Capital Private Limited and misappropriated the said amount without using it for the purpose it was availed.

Earlier in this case, Amrita Kindo, wife of Deepak Kindo, was arrested as she had misappropriated a considerable amount by way of diverting the amount to her business account. It has been ascertained that the 47 bank accounts are being maintained by Deepak Kindo, his wife Amrita and other close relatives in their own names as well as in the names of their business establishments/firms/companies.
