Vigilance unearths assets worth crores from Sundargarh ADM

Bhubaneswar: State Vigilance sleuths unearthed assets worth crores of rupees disproportionate to the known sources of income from the possession of Sundargarh Additional District Magistrate Biswajit Mohapatra.
Vigilance sources on Friday said during the search operation, cash amounting to more than Rs 3 lakh, one double-storeyed building at Naharkanta, Bhubaneswar, worth about Rs 89 lakh, one flat at Rasulgarh, Bhubaneswar, and fixed deposits over Rs 1 crore were detected and they are under verification.
More amounts are likely in multiple savings bank accounts which are being verified and steps are being taken to seal locker and freeze bank accounts. The Vigilance team also unearthed 10 plots in Bhubaneswar and Jagatsinghpur. The market value of these plots, Vigilance sources said, would be in crores. He had also started cement business recently in the name of his spouse.
