58 YEAR OLD WOMAN APPEARS FOR HSC EXAMINATION

JAJPUR:  58 year old Archana Das   of Badamanmgalapur village of Jajpur district appeared   for High School Certificate (HSC) examination at the government high school, Jajpur   on Wednesday  through corresponding courses. 

“I had a dream to pass HSC examination and I fulfilled my mission  by appearing in the HSC examination.    I married at the age of 19 . But my marriage went wrong and I became separate with my husband six years back . After my separation, I joined as an ASHA worker in the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Dharmasala.  Last year,   I decided to clear HSC examination and through corresponding course.  I have a son and daughter. Both are graduates.  Now I am residing in the house of my nephew Prabodh Das  at Dharmasala”, said Archana.

Archana is now a role model for all the women who discontinued their study after their marriage, said Randhir Das a social worker of the district.

 It gives us so much happiness to see  her  write the examination at such  age, said Prabodh Das the nephew of Archana.  Now Archana resides in the house of Prabodh who works in police department at Jaraka.

She has become a role model for thousands of old persons who left their school education in the past. Archana   proves that there is no age for reading. it be can start anytime, said Dr Basudev Das a  noted writer  and member of Odisha Sahitya Academy.
