Koraput:Villagers working in all villages in the district, including the village guards, today met the district magistrate and submitted a petition to include them in all government poor welfare schemes to protect the honor of the government and the police department.  Although they started working in 1958 at a monthly salary of Rs 30 to help the government and the police department, they have been paid Rs 1,400, but they have been deprived of all public welfare and poor welfare schemes by the Odisha government or the Indian government.  “It simply came to our notice then.  Divakar Jani, Kamal Lochan Nag, Ramchandra Harijan and Banamali Gowda have appealed to the district magistrate today to make some improvements in their livelihoods if they are included in the government scheme as it is difficult to run their families at low wages.
