Industrial Disaster Preparedness: IMFA Shows the Way

Rayagada, October 2: Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys(IMFA) Ltd is one of the premiere industry in the state of Odisha and has tried its best to counter the regional imbalance in an industry deficit KBK region. Situated in Therubali, IMFA has got itself involved in several civic action programmes thorough its CSR wing. Apart from a profiteering industry adding to the production process of the state, it has created an unintended effect by creating employment and other opportunities in its periphery.

Adhering to the statutory requirements, a mock drill on precautions and safety measures to be taken up during leakage of liquid oxygen inside the plant was recently organized by the Safety Department of IMFA Therubali mentored by Er. K V Rao, Sr.Vice-President, IMFA. It was graced by Sri Swarup Kumar Jena, Deputy Director of Boilers and Factories, Rayagada & attended by Sri.Ranjit Kumar Nayak Asst Director, B & F, Rayagada, Sri.Sangram Hansda, District Fire Officer, Rayagada, Sri Jagannath Behera , ASI of Police, Therubali outpost, Sri Ram Ranjan Biswal, Manager Safety, JK Paper Mills, Sri Ramkrushna Tripathy and other dignitaries.

Sr. Manager Safety IMFA Therubali digitally explained through power point the measures taken up to prevent leakage of liquid oxygen inside plant and rescue and management of affected persons. Sri K.V.Rao, Sr.Vice-President, IMFA briefed on the safety policy of IMFA to achieve  zero accident and advised the employees present to be alert and carry out the responsibilities assigned to team leaders of various Safety Teams. The efforts put in conducting the  mock drill at a high degree was highly appreciated by all participants. Sri Kalol Naik, DGM, PA & IR proposed vote of thanks to the participants.
