KORAPUT:A total of 14 villagers from seven panchayats staged a massive rally in Koraput town today to dig for mining in the Mali hills in the Semiliguda block of Koraput district. From the Women’s College Square to the district attorney’s office, about 3,000 locals held placards in their hands and demanded that the area be immediately mined and that public hearings be held soon for environmental clearance.
Mining in the Mali Mountains has claimed that the youth will be able to find employment with the development of the region. Locals have demanded the mining of the Mali Mountains for the environmental and collective development of the region. On the 22nd, we gathered peacefully at a public hearing on Mount Mali.
