District level Competition for the Chief Minister’s Folk Art Trophy -21 was held at Koraput

 Koraput:The district is inhabited by popular  tribal dance  Dhemsa Koraput, the district’s timber dance, Ranjudi , Durua and  Deshia  has doubled its name across the state.

Speaking to scribe,District Culture Officer (DCO) said the Chief Minister’s Folk Art Trophy was an innovative initiative by Odisha state government to promote the hidden folk art of the district and revive folk art.

Ten teams from different blocks of the district took part in the competition. Borigumma’s Desia Nat came first, Jaipur Desia Nat came second and Kundura’s Gundal Dandahalia dance came third.  All participating teams were awarded certificates.  Bir Kishore Nayak, Aditya Kumar Sahu, Gauri Prasad Rath, Karna Gowda and Balaji Samantaraya were present as judges.  Professor Ravi Shatapathi conducted the program.  The first, second and third place teams will take part in the state-level competition, said district culture officer Sripangi.

The district level competition for the Chief Minister’s Folk Art Trophy-212 has been held at the District Cultural Council of Koraput.  The competition, presided over by District Culture Officer Madhav Pangi, was attended by District Information and Public Relations Officer Jagannath Prasad Rayaguru as the chief guest.
