International Literacy Day at Gajapati

Paralakhemundi: lnternational Literacy Day observed by various organizations at Gajapati district. At Doctorbanjeri on behalf of Akankhya & Sakhi One Step Centre the program observed. Presided by President of Akankhya Ashalata Panigrahi among others Secretary Mina Kumari Tahal, Anita Mishra Vice President, Mamata Padhi, Swarnaprabha Pathi,Sunita Behera, Usharani Mishra & on behalf of Sakhi One Step Centre, Bhagyalaxmi Nayak graced on the occasion. Guests sensitized on importance of women literacy which can protect all attrocities & sufferings.Various schemes too laveraging to promote a girl to join on mainstream to bring gender equity. After a sensitization rally in the village all gathered at a meeting.
At Rasikaraj temple premises on behalf of Pragati Women Organization & Pujya Puja SansadSansad the program organized. Presided by Bichitrananda Bebarta, among the guest Binod Chandra Jena, Pramod Chandra Padhi, Bhagabat Padhi, Lingaraj Prasad Dash, Narmada Dash graced on the meeting. Speakers streamed on discrepancies of backward district like Gajapati where women literacy is 45℅ as per 2011 census. So need of sensitization through 4 parts of literacy eg financial, legal, functional, electoral & knowledge on disaster management. Simply knowing signature can not help to join on mainstream but access to information can lead better livelihoods.
