75th Independence Day Celebrated at NTPC Talcher Kaniha

Talcher:NTPC Talcher Kaniha celebrated 75th year of Independence on the theme “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with full patriotic fervor by following Covid-19 protocols. Chief Guest , Shri K. Srinivasa Rao, Executive Director (Talcher Kaniha) hoisted the National Flag followed by singing of National Anthem by all. Shri K. S. Rao received CISF guard of honour followed by inspection of the parade.
Addressing the gathering at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Stadium, Shri Rao paid rich tributes to the sacrifice made by our great freedom fighters and recalled their glorious contribution during the freedom struggle.
During the address, ED(Talcher Kaniha) listed down the feats achieved by Talcher Kaniha and praised the team work of employees and associates working in tandem to ensure uninterrupted power to the nation during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that NTPC Kaniha is performing well in all areas of Plant Operation and Ash Utilization. He also appreciated the entire hospital team for their life saving efforts during ongoing pandemic and efforts towards vaccination of employees, family members, CISF, associates and contract workers. He added that NTPC Kaniha has under taken various CSR activities with special thrust on efforts to counter the menace of COVID-19.
On this occasion, Shri Rao along with senior officials, representatives of Unions & Associations, SC/ST Association, Ladies Club members presented Meritorious Awards to 66 employees, Power Excel Award to 6 employees, Safety award to contract workers and Manveeyata Puraskar to 21 employees. CISF employees were also awarded for their contribution. On this auspicious occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, NTPC Kaniha distributed school bags to 120 students of nearby primary school. Ladies club, Tanvi Sangam felicitated the COVID Warriors – Doctors & Nursing staff of the hospital.
