Berhampur:A sophisticated Managing Director of a fake placement company who duping money from innocent job seekers arrested by Berhampur Bada Bazar Police team under the direct guidance of Pinak Mishra,SP,Berhampur
Sources reveal more than 100 job seekers across Berhampur on the pretext of providing them employment in firms, police said. One Laptop, Two mobile phone handsets, 4 SIM cards, 27 numbers of forged VISAs, PAN Cards and ID Proof cards of victims were also recovered from the accused.
Acting in action on the strength of the complainant Manash Ranjan Mohanty, of Harsha Vihara 4th Line, Badabazar Berhampur police started investigation the factual of the allegation sought by Manas.
The case was registered instant on the report of Manas Ranjan Mohanty regarding cheating to more than 20 number of unemployed youths for sending them for different jobs to foreign countries namely Maldives, Brunei by arranging VISA documents through the accused Subramanian Veerasamy of Tamil Nadu whohas collected the original passports of the candidates as well as money from the job aspirants to a tune of rupees 8.5lakhs for VISA Processing, and purchasing Air Tickets for the journey of the job aspirants abroad.
Accused Sanjay Jena, the agent of the above noted accused was arrested earlier from Bhubaneswar on 03.04.2021. Continuing the investigation Inspector Akshaya Kumar Nayak of Cyber Cell Berhampur and Inspector Prashant Bhupati, IIC Badabazar PS apprehended above noted accused from his office at Pennadam, Dist:- Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu on 06.08.2021. The accused has issued fake offer letters & VISAs with false assurance of employment opportunities to job aspirants abroad. An amount of Rs 4.75 lakhs has been received by the accused in his Axis bank account which has been freezed. He was produced in the court of Judicial magistrate Tittagudi, Kuddalore district of Tamil Nadu on 06.08.2021 and was brought on 3 days Transit remand.He is being produced in the Court of SDJM, Berhampur today. Investigation of the case is in progress.
