Huge Quantum of Ganja Seized by Potangi Police,3 Held

Koraput: Huge quantity of Ganja has been seized on Friday at about 6.30 AMby the Potangi police in Koraput district of Odisha.
Acting on a tip-off, the Potangi Police intercepted a 14 wheeler truck and and seized huge quantity of contraband ganja.
According to IIC,Potangi,Mr.Kaibalya Seth,On Friday at 05.00 AM on receipt of credible information from reliable source regarding transportation of contraband Ganja in a 14 wheeler Truck bearing Registration No.-MH-l 7BY-2828 and in one Bolero Pick UP bearing Registration No. AP-39TM-5859 from Pukali- Renga side towards Maligunja Chhaka side.
After receiving the information the above raiding party rushed to spot i.e. Maligunja Chhaka in P.S Bolero. At 6.30 AM we found the Truck bearing Registration No.MHI 7BY2828 and one Bolero Pick UP bearing Registration No. AP-39TM-5859 near Maligunja Chhaka, which were coming from Renga side. As per prior information we detained the said Truck and Bolero pick up at 6.30 AM.
After detention two unknown occupants of the Truck and one occupant of Bolero pick up managed to escape from their vehicles and fled away towards nearest forest. We chased them and trying to caught them but could not able to caught them. It was a full body Truck bearing Registration No.-MH-l 7BY-2828 and one Bolero Pick UP bearing Registration No. AP-39TM-5859.Then I along with available staffs accompanied with me surrounded the suspicious Truck and Bolero Pick Up.
On suspicion we verified the Truck and Bolero Pick Up and during verification of the Truck and Bolero Pick Up it was found that in the dala of the said vehicles there were number of jerry bags containing contraband Ganja were loaded inside the dala in concealing manner, from which acute smell of Ganja was coming out. Hence, we detained and guarded the Truck and Bolero Pick Up . After following all provisions of NDPS Act, I seized the net quantity of Ganja 1348 KG in 45 nos of jerry bags along with one truck and bolero pick up which were used for transporting the Ganja. In this connection the above noted case is registered and investigation in going on.
