Inter-state dacoity gang busted by B’Pur Police, 9 held

Berhampur: Gosaninuagaon Police on Tuesday busted an inter-state dacoity gang and arrested nine persons in this connection. Those arrested are;Tiger Noniya (29),Chotu Kumar Noniya (20),Rahul Kumar (20) , ChandanNoniya (22),Raj Kumar Noniya (25) ,Rohan Kumar Noniya (20) ,Bijay Das (22), Anuk Kumar (22) and Sagir Khan (57). Notably, 1 to 8 are from Jharkhand and Sagir Khan is from Balakati, Bhubaneswar.
Police also seized One Auto Rickshaw bearing Reg. No OD-33-D-4885,One Country made Revolver with three numbers of live ammunitions, Three number of live bombs ,Three numbers of swords, 3 numbers of Iron rods,32 numbers of Smart Mobile Phones of different make and models from their possession.
SP Pinak Mishra said On In the intervening night of Monday at 3.30 AM Gosaninuagaon Inspector Sumeet Soren, SI G.R.Behera, and his PS staff with the assistance of SI B.B.Sethi and other PS staff of B.N.Pur P.S rounded up 9 criminals of an inter-state gang of Dacoits at Khajuria Over Bridge near NH-16. They were assembled there and making preparation to commit armed dacoity on NH. 32 mobile smart phones have been recovered from them which were reportedly stolen from different places of Berhampur and Ganjam District. Till now 10 mobile phones have been tagged in four cases of B.N.Pur PS, two cases of Gosaninuagaon PS, two cases of Badabazar Police station and two cases of Hinjili Police station which were registered on 17 & 18-07-2021.
Subsequently, police registered a case Gosaninuagaon P.S. case no 92 dt.21.07.2021 U/s 399/402 IPC R/w Sec 25(1-B)(a) Arms Act/ Sec. 4 & 5 of Explosive Substance Act.
