Corona Conference. Gambling Den Busted in Berhampur

Berhampur: The Berhampur Police on Saturday busted a gambling den at New KalupatraSahi under Badabazar PS. in Cuttack city of Odisha and held eight persons in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off , the team of Bada Bazar police conducted a raid at a house where the gambling conference (not virtual) was being held and detained nine gamblers from the spot.
In the raid the police detected a gambling den and arrested eight accused persons (gamblers). The police also seized cash worth Rs. 37,400/-.
On a tip off Bada Bazar PS staff including IIC conducted the raid obtaining search warrant and apprehended the above noted persons. The cash and other incriminating materials including six Mobile phone have been seized from their possession.
According to Inspector in Charge, Prashant Bhupati,the noted accused persons after 48 hrs of flexibility of Shutdown were engage in gambling by playing cards betting money in the house of Mitu Sahu of new Kalupatra Sahi under Bada Bazar PS.
The veterans were identified as Aruna Kuma Sahu (24) of KalupatraSahi, Manoj Sahu (29) of Kalupatra Sahi,Tarini Charan Sethi (29) of Panigrahipentho( Brajarajnagar, 4th lane),G.Sahibhusan (36) of Kampa Street,Tukuna Mohanty (32) of SriramNgar, 1st lane,Bijaya Sahu (46) of Harshavihar,2nd lane,Deba Kumar Mohanty (30) of Old Berhampur Mentu Chhak,and PrasantaSahu (34) of Sriram Nagar, 1st lane.
