ROURKELA: Corona, the pandemic has affected the common people all over the globe and in India the impact is enormous. If the affect is everywhere how cum Rourkela the industrial city of Odisha will remain unaffected. Corona infections over last four months were severe, at one point of time the infection numbers stood the highest in the state but the lock down and proactive action of the administration has decreased the numbers.

But the effect on common people is enormous, particularly for the people in transport business, vendors other than essential commodities, and employment or earning of poor daily workers. This resulted to increase in frustration of this segment and forced many youths from this bracket to commit crime. Finding no income opportunity many youths have opted for easy money by snatching, stealing things from shops houses etc. Now a days, police personnel are being deployed to strictly oversee who are breaking corona guidelines and the focus is entirely vested on this, which is essential but at the same time to maintain the law and order situation is also required badly.

There have been many complaints been lodged for snatching and loot in different locations of the districts. In many cases police have successfully cached the culprits but in maximum cases they are still struggling to solve the issues. But the main impact is financial which is how further lockdown is not expected, said experts. Govt. should take proper actions to compensate the poorer. Recently Naveen Govt. has announced a financial package worth of Rs.26.29 crore from CMRF for urban street vendorsbenefiting over 87000 vendors. Govt. has already declared to pay a compensation to fewersegments but in major segments this facility is ignored. An equity is required without seeing different segments or earning capacity.
