FORTNIGHT PANI PANCHAYAT OBSERVED IN GAJAPATI

Paralakhemundi: At DRDA Conference Hall Paralakhemundi Pani Panchayat Fortnight observed by MI Division.
Anitarani Behera ZP Chairperson and Sub-Collector Rajanikant Swain graced as Chief Guest and Guest of Honor respectively, while the meeting was presided by Executive Engineer of MI Division PK Rout.on his address elaborated on function of Pani Panchayat and equal distribution of water from head point to tail to support small & marginal farmers specially.
Chief Guest Anitarani Behera quipped on lacklustre planning of high budget check dam which paralyzed and not useful for irrigation too. She stressed on farmers involvement on Irrigation structure to assure them better production.
Sub-Collector Rajanikant Swain derived on Gajapati agriculture map where 25% portion have cultivable land where rest of 75% can be useful for Horticulture production to support small farmers.
Among those line departments CDVO Dilip Kumar Patnaik,AAO K.Madhav Rao,District Fisheries Officer Manoj Kumar Patra expressed on their various Schemes & related to Pani Panchayat Ayacutdars support.Among those leading Farmers Suryanarayan Patnaik,A.Kulabardhan Rao,K.Sanmukha Rao,ZP Members Sridhar Naidu & Jacob Majhi stressed various problems like functionalize on Pani Panchayats in Gajapati to ensure better role of Ayacutdars.On this occasion students who participated on competitions awarded.
Among them Rajesh Palai of Govt High School Jajpur with first prize awarded Rs.3000,Raghunath Prasad Panda of MRBH School second prize with Rs.2000 & Rudra Pradhan of MM High School as third with Rs.1500. Asst. Executive Engineer Susanta Kumar Mishra facilitated the program where Asst Engineer Birendra Sahu,JE Sujata Kumari Gauda with farmers of district attended.
