Berhampur Police arrested a Gang of Cats-Eye Criminals (!).

BERHAMPUR: In a major breakthrough, Gopalpur police,Golothara police and Sadar police in Berhampur police district have busted a gang of professional gang and arrested 6 persons in connection with a burglary case and seized One gold chain- 10 grams, One gold chain- 19.800 mil. Grams, One gold chain-9.700 mil. Grams, Ten numbers of Gold Khasu- 13.900 mil grams, one pair of Gold Ear flower6. Three gold locket- 2.450 mil grams, One gold Rani Hara- 26.300 mil. Grams, Two numbers of gold finger ring-3.900 mil grams, One Gold Mangal Sutra – 06 grams, Melted gold – 2.690 mil grams,04 grams Total gold – 98.740 mil grams and Two numbers of silver coin- 19.800 mil grams., Cash of Rs 1,41,000/- and house breaking equipment were also recovered from them.
The team conducted raids by the strict instruction from SP, Berhampur, Mr.Pinak Mishra the team conducted massive raid at different places and nabbed 6 persons.
According to SDPO, Sadar, Mr.JK Mohaapatra, during interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the crime. During course of investigation they admit before Police team that they are in habit of committing burglary regularly and they don’t stay at one place and frequently change their place of stay.
The arrested Criminals were identified as ; K.Mithun (28) of Village- Naradiha,Ganjam, K.Sudam (19) of Village,Tanganapalli, Ganjam, K.Tunguru @ K.Prakash (20)of Village,Tanganapalli, Ganjam, K.Sana (23), Village,Tanganapalli, Ganjam, K.Tofan @ Shankar (20),of Village,Tanganapalli, Ganjam, and K.Kanha (19),of Village, Tanganapalli, Ganjam. They have many cases at Berhampur Sadar PS, Golonthara PS,Gopalpur PS and Chamakhandi PS limits.SDPO Said.
Accordingly, IIC, Gopalpur, PS, Mr.Bibeka Mohanta “We conducted our raid at many places and from different parts of the district chalked out our team plan to nab the gang of criminal”.
Our further investigations are on to ascertain whether the gang was involved in other crimes as the quantum of seizure in gold ornaments and cash is much more than claimed by the complaintant,he added.
