IMPORTED SEX RACKET BUSTED IN ODISHA CAPITAL (!).

Bhubaneswar,21/01/19:The Special Task Force of Odisha Crime Branch today arrested two masterminds of a sex racket, involving Bangladeshi girls, from Danagoiri area of Pipili in Puri district.
The arrested masterminds have been identified as Sk Ibrahim and his wife Anjali Bibi. The police also rescued six Bangladeshi girls from a rented house in the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar.
According to reports, a Bangladeshi girl had lodged rape bid complaint against the manager of a hotel and another staff, following which the accused duo was arrested and forwarded to the court.
The girl, in her complaint, had stated that he has been engaged in the flesh trade. However, the police came to know that her identity was fake and she hails from Bangladesh. During interrogation, she revealed that Anjali Bibi had brought her to Odisha via Kolkata through fake passport & identity card and engaged her in the illicit trade here. The lady was later arrested and sent to a short-stay home.
After eliciting information, the police started a manhunt to nab the kingpin of the sex racket. Following an investigation and reliable inputs about the whereabouts of Anjali Bibi, a team of STF conducted a raid and arrested the mastermind couple from Pipili today.
On the other hand, the police also rescued six girls from the Old Town area here. They were staying at a rented accommodation by claiming to be nurses and tailors. During the night hours, they were sent to customers as per the deal cracked by the masterminds. It was learned that the customers used to shell out Rs 10,000 to 15,000.
After STF’s crackdown today, it has come to the fore that accused Anjali Bibi was a close associate of Sunil Meher, a sex racket kingpin, who had arrested from Kolkata Airport in 2016. Anjali was running the racket with the help of her husband Ibrahim after the arrest of Meher. An investigation into the link is underway to ascertain the alleged link, an official of STF said.
