Columnist Day: A Unique Celebration at Berhampur

Berhampur: The fortnight tabloid ‘Lekhanira Agnishikha’ celebrates Columnist day and honors the renowned Columnist of city in a State level celebration organized at SMIT conference hall, Berhampur in offline and online mode. Dr. Kulamani Ojha, the Deputy Director of CHSE, Odisha joined the meeting as Chief Speaker and addressed the meet marking the day as a unique and special one. Columns have special spaces in a newspaper and columnists are in society. A columnist always composes the story with news and views with opinions to create an understanding in the society and among the people as well. So they should be honored, he added. As the second guest Dr. Harish Ch. Behera, Principal of JMC, SMIT highlighted the roles of columnist and how they make the media impartial on his address. Organiser Sanat Kumar Panda marks the day and its importance in celebration whereas the editor Krushna Chandra Sahu welcomes the guest and columnist to honor them. The Dias of Chief Guest is occupied by Jammulla Sankar Narayan, Secretary of SMIT, group of institutions.

On the day columnists Dr. P.C. Mohanty (Haritas), Bighneswar Sahu, R.M. Pattnaik, Dr. Laxmi Narayan Das and Dr. Kulamani Ojha are honored for their contribution to media. There are more than 35 columnists on Google meet platform as the Corana is spreading day by day. Journalist Saroj Mohanty conducted the meeting whereas Santosh Behera, Roshani Sahu, Jitu Gouda, Prasant Kar all is joined hands to make it a grand success.
