Bhubaneswar/Rourkela/Berhampur:Covid cases are surging across the country and patients are losing the battles in large numbers. Again the new problem aroused is lack of oxygen supply which is now taking care of by the central Govt. and respective states. Odisha Govt. is now proactive in handling the corona cases like yester years by initiating many new initiatives in advance to contain Covid and the due result was received. This year Govt. has taken many proactive steps like declaring weekend shutdowns in 10 districts and night curfew in every district. Today state govt. has gone further to assign 7 govt. hospitals to oversee Covid centers in all these districts and all these seven Govt. hospitals are SCB, VIMSAR, MKCG,SLN,PRM,FM Medical college and BB Medical college.

In this development SCB will see Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur,  Kendrapara, Khorda, Nayagarh and Puri, where as MKCG will supervise Boudh, Ganjam, Gajapati and Kandhamal, VIMSAR will see Anugul, Bargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Samablpur and Sundergarh, SLN will take the responsibility of Koraphut, Malkanagiri, Nabarangpur and Rayagada, PRM hospital will supervise Keonghar and Mayurbhanj, FM Medical college will take the responsibility of Balasore and Bhadrak and BB medical college will be taking the responsibility of Bolangir, Kalalhandi, Nuapara and Subarnapur.

By decentralizing this responsibility would help in micro management of covid cases in these districts. Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik has already urged the people of the state to take proper precautions in containing this dreaded pandemic, Covid and to follow all guidelines given by the competent authorities to curve covid. The major problem is now to vaccinate people above the age of 45 because the vaccines which are required for this major drive is not available for last two days, hence in many places of Rourkela vaccination drive was cancelled. Central Govt. should supply vaccine in large quantity to cater the demand.

For the cause Naveen Patnaik has already requested centre to give adequate vaccine for the cause. State Govt. is closely monitoring the shut downs and night curfew imposed in the state. Police department is also coming hard on violators and making them penalized for the negligence.
