SDM cum Commander Covid 19, Berhampur Restrict Public Gathering under section 144 Maa Budhi Thakurani Yatra with Stipulations

Berhampur,12/04/21:Whereas. It is observed that in many places people are showing complacency in observing the basis of COVID-19 protocols which is making the environment conducive for spread of COVID-19 infection and where as COVID appropriate behaviour and protocols are required to be observed scrupulously in order to prevent the transmission of the infection.
Whereas, as per report received from the office of the CDM & PHO, Ganjam, vide letter No 1205 dated 12.04.21, two new Covid-19 cases has been detected among the Pujakas of the deity. Whereas, as per letter No 697/Badabazar PS dt 124.21 of SDPO, Berhampur,City, it is apprehended that there is possibility of large scale congregation on Tuesday and also on the occasion of Sankranti.
Therefore, in order to restrict large scale gathering in one place in view to prevent further spread of COVID-19,V.Keerthi Vasan, LAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate,Berhampur-cum-incident Commander for Covid 19 do hereby restrict any kind of public gathering under section 144 C.P.C In Desibehera Street, Berhampur from 7.00 PM of 12.4 21 till the end of Sri Maa Budhi Santani Thakurani Yatra with the following stipulations;
Yatra organizers shall ensure barricading at both the ends of Desibehera Street to prevent any outsider from entering into the area., Not more than 10 persons including Priests/Pujakas are allowed inside the Temporary pandal to carry out the traditional “Nitikanti” of the deity., Only traditional rituals to be followed with proper barricading of the Pandal, Keeping in view of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, physical darshan for devotees shall be discontinued and BeMC is instructed to make necessary arrangements for virtual darshan, in greater public interest., Only residents/shopkeepers residing in Desibehera street shall be allowed to move in and out of the street after producing relevant proof to the Police Personnel in-charge of gate duty, Only Puja as per tradition shall be conducted in indoor like condition for observance of rituals without public participation, pomp and grandeur., Temporary Pendal shall be covered on three sides and 4″ side shall also be covered in a way not to allow any public view of the deity., During the return of the deity from Temporary Pendal to Mandir on 16 April, restrictions under section 144 extend across the entire route from Pendal to Temple and Police shall ensure cordoning of the deity during Movement., Any person found violating the above order shall be liable to be prosecuted against under section 188 IPC and also under relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and also under Epidemic Act, 1897.
SDM,Berhampur communicated in his office order to SDPO,City and instructed to take steps to deploy sufficient police staff to the spot during barricading of the area since no Darshan of the local public is allowed. and the IIC Bada Bazar directed ,due promulgation in the said area and ensure strict enforcement of the order.
