Taniska of Talcher was the first in the all-India Shooting Competition

Angul: Angul district has no special facilities for shooting games. Nonetheless, some players have taken an unreasonable interest in it and have been proud to have been selected at three all-India levels on their own initiative. Talcher’s Tanishka Samanta, Siddhartha Ganeshwar and Sarvinsh Mishra have achieved this feat. They took part in a three-day all-India shooting competition in Asansol, West Bengal on behalf of the Talcher Rifle Club. Sixty contestants from all over Odisha took part in it. These five were selected from the state of Odisha. Out of five three are Miss. Tanishka Samanta, Siddhartha Ganeshwar and Sarvinsha Mishra of the Talcher Rifle Club are all out of state for Shooting Competition at the national level.
Three were selected in this tournament. On the other hand, Tanishka Samantha, the one and only daughter of the across Odisha, won three medals, one silver and two bronze.
In Talcher, they have been preparing for their efforts within the limited infrastructure of the game, and they have achieved this within a limited range due to financial difficulties and lack of infrastructure facilities. Tanishq said there would be no shortage of talent players in the district but the lack of modern infrastructure needed for the game. This the only rifle club in the whole district.
While there is one shooting range, there are no other facilities in the district. However, the players have succeeded. Tanishka Samanta is the daughter of Bhubaneswar Samanta. She is now a ninth grader at DAV School in Talcher. He has won many gold medals at the state level several times before.
