Odisha STF Seized Brown Sugar @ Odisha – West Bengal Boarder

Bhubaneswar: Continuing their crackdown on drug Mafias’ especially Brown Sugar racket in Odisha, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch seized 1.5 kg brown sugar and arrested one person from Jaleswar area in Odisha’s Balasore district on Monday.
As per the confirm source on the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted on NH-16 i.e. near Laxmannath Check gate, Odisha- West Bengal border against illegal trade/transportation of Narcotic Drugs, as result of which one accused person namely Sk.Munaf Husen of Jhadeswarpur, PS.Jaleswar, Dist. Balasore was apprehended.
During search Brown sugar weighing 1 kg 530 Gms and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from the possession of Munaf Husen.
The accused person could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband material, for which the accused person was arrested on Monday (08.03.2021) and forwarded to the court of District & Sessions Judge, Balasore.
In this connection STF PS Case No.09 dated 09.03.2021 U/s. 21(c)/29 NDPS Act, 1985 was registered. Investigation is on.
Notably, during last two months, STF has conducted raids at various places and detected 07 (Seven) cases against drug peddlers including the above noted case. STF has arrested 07 accused persons and also seized a total of 4 kg 506 gram of Brown Sugar, 2000 Kg Ganja and other incriminating materials said Officer STF,CB,Odisha
