Ensuring Optimum Safety Standards at IMFA: Emergency Mock Drill Conducted

Rayagada, February 26: An emergency mock drill was conducted as per advice of Dist Collector Rayagada to assess the preparedness to handle emergency scenario. Mr. Swaroop Jena, Dy. Director Factories & Boilers, Rayagada division advised to create a simulation in furnace area. It is a difficult task to handle fire and rescue drill at this place, but can be helpful in tackling real situation if occurred.
Mr K V Rao, unit head of Therubali, accepting the suggestions, conducted mock drill in furnace area which was appreciated by the delegates. Mr. Ranjit Nayak, Asst Director Factories & Boilers, Rayagada Zone was present in the event and advised to train all workmen regularly with first aid and fire fighting techniques. Mr. Sangram Hansda, District Fire Officer also applauded the efforts made by combat team & rescue team to handle fire & rescue the casualty from upstairs to ground floor.
Officials from nearby industries M/s JK Paper, M/s Utkal Alumina, M/s Hanuman Oxygen and M/s Verdhaman Chemicals were invited to witness the mock drill. The event was coordinated by Sri Ramakrushna Tripathy, Sr. Manager safety. Mr. Kallol Kumar Nayak, DGM, HR concluded the session by giving vote of thanks.
