74TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED AT NTPC – TALCHER THERMAL

TALCHER:The 74th Independence Day was celebrated at NTPC TTPS., D.N.Tiwari, Group General Manager hoisted the national flag at Plant Premises of the power station.
After garlanding the Mahatma Gandhi Statue at Gandhi Park inside the TTPS campus, Shri Tiwari took the guard of honour on this auspicious day and made a call to remember the contributions of freedom fighters and pay respect to their sacrifices. The occasion was celebrated with extra pre-cautions due to COVID19 pandemic following all Government guidelines and SOPs.
Speaking on the occasion, he stated that “Power is a major contributor in the economical development of the nation, with power generation, NTPC is playing important role in the development of the country. He highlighted that NTPC has increased the total installed capacity to 62.91 Giga Watt and contributed to more than 20.6% of the total power generation requirement of the Country. TTPS has been ranked 6th in All India PLF ranking thermal power plants. At operational performance the TTPS station during Apr-Jul’20 period achieved generation of 1258.86 Million units with 93.46% Plant Load Factor (PLF). He also spoke that TTPS is continuously striving towards improving work place safety and following the SOPs strictly. On environmental and ash utilisation front, TTPS sustained 100% ash utilisation. He praised the spirit of NTPC in providing uninterrupted services to the nation in the ongoing COVID pandemic.
He thanked all the COVID warriors of the hospital, employees of NTPC, unions, associations, CISF, Schools, contract employees, associates, nearby villagers, Sagarika Ladies Club and all government authorities for their whole-hearted support.
The program was ended with mass tree plantation organised by Sagarika Ladies Club.
