686.5 kg Seized Ganja Destroyed

Berhampur:Based on the honorable court direction & as per the guidelines laid down in NDPS act , District Drug Disposal Committee was formed chaired by Superintendent of Police and other members as Superintendent Excise , Deputy collector, Subashree Rath OAS and DySP Headquarters Akshya Nayak.
Based on the recommendation of the committee following due procedure and court guidelines seized Ganja / cannabis were destroyed at designated incenerator.
This is Pre -Trial disposal of seized Ganja.
Total weight of destroyed Ganja is 686.5 Kg corresponding to 8 NDPS cases of Baidyanathpur PS ( 2 cases), Berhampur Sadar PS ( 3 cases) & Golanthara PS ( 3 cases).
Destruction was done at Biomedical waste incenerator plant located at Seragada on 07-11-2022.
Seized Ganja were stored in Police station Malkhana & court Malkhanas occupying precious space.
This destruction has freed up precious space in Police station Malkhanas . Further destruction will continue for remaining pending NDPS cases
