63 Commemoration Day Observed at Berhampur

Berhampur:The 63rd Police Commemoration Day was observed across the state with much respect today and was marked with solemnity during separate functions held by Berhampur Police at Ambapua Police Ground.
IGP Satyabrata Bhoi joined the event as Chief Guest this morning and paid homage to the policemen who laid their lives in line of duty amidst salutes inclding and offered floral tribute to the martyr policemena.A two-minute silence was also observed for policemen who were martyred. IGP also conveyed deep condolences to the bereft family members of the martyred jawans.
Addressing the visitors during the event the I.G. Police claimed that the number of martyrs has been brought down significantly this year due to modernization of the force as well as successful strategy. The event also witnessed a parade held by the Berrhampur Reserve Police.
Notably, the Police Commemoration Day is observed on October 21, every year to commemorate the highest sacrifice of policemen who were martyred
Similarly, the SP Berhampur Dr.Saravana Vivek,M.,attended the Commemoration Day event at Police Ground and offered floral tribute to the martyr policemen.
Speaking to Media persons,Dr.Vivek said,“A martyr column has been set up at the Police Ground here to mark the day. We would deal with the Maoist threat prevailing in th Mao prone police districts more courageously in coming days,”
In this commemoration day in paying tribute to the Martyrs all ASPs,DSPs’Inspectors,and Media persons pay tribute in this commemoration. Speeches were delivered in remembrance of sahid policeman.
