5,822 Doctors To Be Recruited by Odisha Govt; OPSC Directed To Start Process

Bhubaneswar: To alleviate the problem of shortage of doctors in hospitals in the state, the state government has directed the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to initiate the recruitment process to fill up 5,822 vacant posts.
While answering a question raised by Brahmagiri MLA Upasna Mohapatra, state Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling informed the Assembly that out of the approved 19,984 doctor posts, 6,760 posts are lying vacant.
He added that the OPSC will soon release advertisements to recruit 5,822 doctors to fill up these vacancies following a directive of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
