57th Kho Kho Sr Nationals In Puri From March 31

Bhubaneswar: Holy city Puri on the Odisha coast will host the 57th Senior National Kho Kho Championship from March 31 to April 5.
This national Kho Kho tournament will be held at the District Sports Complex in Puri. This championship organized under the aegis of the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) will 74 teams including 30 state teams as well as institutional teams like Airport Authority, Railways, BSF, Maharashtra Police, and CISF.
Sudhanshu Mittal, president of KKFI, said, “Our vision extends beyond national boundaries; we are dedicated to transforming Kho Kho into a global sport. The upcoming championship in Puri is a testament to our ongoing efforts to modernise the game and showcase its dynamic appeal.”
A Kho Kho Academy and High-Performance Center are active in Puri to provide specialised training to budding Kho Kho players. Odisha government has also proposed to build a dedicated Kho Kho stadium in Bhubaneswar.
In January this year, India hosted the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup. India won both men’s and women’s titles in this tournament played at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.
