35Th Lok Natak Mahostav concluded successfully in Rourkela

ROURKELA: The 35th Lok Natak Mahostav which was kick started on 3rd of January, 2023 at Civic Centre, Rourkela had finally took good bye for this year. Cultural Academy one of the oldest and finest Literary organization of Rourkela has been continuously organizing Lok Natak Mahostav over more than 3 decades which is remarkable. Cultural Academy had tied hands with Rourkela Steel Plant to organize such a big event where many Drama Associations of Odisha took part including Baripada, Jgatsinghpur, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Bargarh and Rourkela. Lok Natak is a unique drama fiesta, where common message reflects, what in general the society is facing for different problems and bad old practices, causing bad harmony in society. It’s a true message carrier, presents through drama, the problem society is facing and due steps to be taken to stop it. Every year out of many scripts received from different districts, few ones gets selected to participate in this Lok Natak, where stringent scrutiny procedure is followed by experts. The last day of the evening was started with the odissi dance by young girls, Sradhashree Mohapatra and Saswati Mohanta, which mesmerized all the viewers present in the hall. One ‘one-Act Play’ was performed by Surya Pattnayak which was well appreciated. The Guest of the evening was Mr.Sarada Prasad Nayak, MLA, Rourkela and Mr.Atanu Bhowmik, Director in-Charge, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), SAIL. Dr. Prabhat Kumar Mallick, President of the Academy had presided the function and Mr. Nrusingha Rout briefed about this drama conducted. Mr.Akshaya Samal had spoke about the Academy and its functions where as Mr.Pasupati Nath ChaterJee had given the vote of thanks. Respected Guests had kept their words on Lok Natak and distributed prizes to the winners of different categories. The best actress award goes to Prabhasini Dandapat, the second prize goes to Sonia Behera and the third prize goes to Sushri Padmaja. In men’s the best actor goes to Malaya kumar Mohanty, the second best goes to Surya Rashmi Das and third best goes to Raj Kishore Sahu. The Best Director award goes Prakash Maharana, the second award goes to Umakanta Bisoi and the third best goes to Raj Kumar Sahu. In many other categories there were awards like Best in Production, Music and Best child actor which was given away by the Guests of the evening. Many Volunteers and members had worked hard to make it a grand success this includes, Dr.Krupasindhu Nayak, Balaram Raul, Purnachandra Mahato, Paresh Biswal, Bishnupriya Mohapatra, Minaketan Pasayat, Alok Bose, Bijay Patra, Akshaya Panda, Sujit Kumar Nayak, Gokulananda Das, Bichitrananda Sahu, Kedar Nath Pradhan and others.
