Main Reasons for leaving Maoist Party: –
Recent appeals made by hon’ble Chief Minister, Odisha and DGP, Odisha Police to active Maoists and militias to leave the path of violence by surrendering and becoming part of the mainstream for peaceful development of these areas. This appeal has influenced many active Maoist cadres to shun the path of violence and to join the mainstream. In past two years more than 20 active Maoist cadres and hundreds of active militias/Maoist sympathisers have surrendered in Malkangiri District.
Hence very few Maoist cadres are remaining and they are also waiting for an opportunity to surrender. These three cadres have also been aspiring for surrender for a long time after becoming disillusioned with the future of Maoist party’s obsolete ideology in this area and their anti-national, anti-tribal actions including killing of locals branding them as police informants. But they were not allowed to leave the party by its senior leaders & was forcefully made to perform crucial tasks.
Establishment of Jodambo Police Station and BSF COBs at Jantapayi, Hantalguda, Jodambo (Darlabeda), Gurasethu, Andrahal and Mudulipada in Swabhiman Anchal area has also led them to surrender, since it has created a peaceful and secure environment in the area. Subsequent increased police operations and successes in interior areas and continuous fear of police action has also led to curtailment of anti-national, anti-local, coercive actions of Maoist party.
They saw various developmental activities being undertaken by the Government of Odisha in this area and realized the futility of violent path of Naxalism. They understood that Maoist themselves are standing in the path of development of the region through their subversive activities. For that purpose, they are making innocent tribals to fight amongst themselves and once their utility is over, they are being branded as police informers and being killed mercilessly.
They got disillusioned with the party leaders after realizing that they are doing nothing for the development of the Swabhiman Anchal and are only interested in their own interests.
They got disappointed with the behaviour of senior Maoist leaders on regional lines between Telugu and other cadres.
They saw many of the active Maoist cadres have surrendered in recent past due to various developmental activities undertaken by govt. of Odisha and subsequent increased police operations and successes in interior areas which also contributed to their surrendering.
They have disclosed that that remaining few local/active Maoist cadres are also willing to surrender and join the mainstream of the society because of the torturous behaviour of C.G. & Andhra Cadres but they are not being allowed to surrender by the senior Maoist leaders of AOBSZC who are threatening them of killing them and their family members. We appeal to them to leave the obsolete, out-dated ways of Maoist party, come to the mainstream and become a part of the on-going peaceful developmental process of this area.
All of them will be properly rehabilitated and will receive monetary assistance as per the Surrender and Rehabilitation Scheme of Government of Odisha. They will also get financial assistance for building house, pursuing studies and getting training in a trade/vocation of their will.
