20 held including Kingpin for smuggling minor minerals near Berhampur City

Berhampur, (Golonthara):The Golonthara PS sleuths who were tipped off about smuggling of minor minerals, conducted a raid during night patrolling on NH-16 at Golonthara under Golonthara police limits earlier in the day.
The Cop arrested nineteen persons including the kingpin K. Bhagaban Reddy @ Tofan of Bada Madhapur, PS-Chhatrapur and seized 19 truck with loaded with minor minerals that were allegedly being smuggled. The minerals are worth expected more than 10 lakh.
Police said, On Thursday while performing patrolling on NH -16 at Golanthara Chati Golanthara Police Station staffs detected 19 nos of Trucks illegally transporting Sands (Minor Mineral) to Andhra Pradesh.
On verification it was ascertained that they have loaded the trucks at Chhatrapur-Bada-Madhapur with Y forms of different Tahasils of the state.
As these trucks were carrying the Minor Mineral-Sand illegally and smuggling to the other states, those sand loaded 19 trucks were seized and 19 drivers were arrested. Besides this one car Hyundai Creta bearing Regd no.-OD07AF 6969 which was being used for escorting the Trucks and being driven by K. Bhagaban Reddy @ Tofan of Bada Madhapur, Chhatrapur Police limit who is the master mind of this smuggling of sand was also arrested.
