2 Most Wanted Criminals Injured In Police Encounter In Cuttack
Cuttack: Two hardcore most wanted criminals were injured in a police encounter in the Indranipatna area of Choudwar in Cuttack district at late night on Wednesday. This encounter occurred during a joint operation by the Choudwar Police and the Special Squad.
The injured accused persons were identified as Katas Raut and Shubhranshu Parida. Katas has at least 15 criminal cases pending against him, while Shubhranshu is allegedly involved in over 50 criminal cases, said police sources.
The duo was being tracked by the police. After getting confirmed about their location, police launched an operation late Wednesday night to nab them.
When they were rounded up, the criminals reportedly fired at the cops to avoid arrest. In retaliation, the police returned fire injuring Katas and Shubhranshu. Both were hit by bullets in their legs.
The injured criminals have been admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Police seized firearms and live ammunition from the possession of the accused.
