118th Meeting of Railway Users Consultative Committee held at Visakhapatnam.

Sunabeda: 02/06/23: The 118th meeting of East Coast Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee  held in the conference hall of DRM, Visakhapatnam  under the chairmanship of DRM Anoop Kumar Satpathy. Shaik Ibrahim and Manoj Acharya of Koraput district attended the meeting and presented various demands for the development of railway services in the undivided Koraput district.  Mr. Ibrahim presented the proposals for  stoppage of Samalswari Express  at Tikri and Damanjodi, extension of Bhubaneswar-Balangir Express train to Jagdalpur so that people of Koraput region will get a  day time train to  Bhubaneswar.

Arrangement of a Link Express to  Samata Express to facilitate the connectivity from Koraput to Delhi. Restoration of Jagdalpur-Durg Express  , Upgradation of Koraput, Demanjodi and Dumuriput railway stations, provision of concession on railway fares to senior citizens, Construction of a foot over bridge from Damanjodi platform number two to road side, construction of guarded level crossing gates near Ambagaon and Killar village of Koraput district, early commissioning of Rayagada Railway Division and  also early commissioning of Naupada-Gunupur-Therubali, Jeypore-Nabarangpur and Jeypore -Malkangiri new railway line projects. It’s said that the proposal has already sent to zonal head quarters for stoppage of Samalswari Express at Tikri and Damanjodi. A  sincere efforts wil be initiated  to extend  the Hirakhand Express up to Baleswar. Introduction of New train will explore after  doubling of new line between Koraput – Rayagada section. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Preeti Rana conducted the meeting. 20 DRUCC members including senior officials of Railway Department attended the said meeting.
