108 ambulance crews gave new life to critical patients by donating blood

Bargarh/Nuapada: 108 ambulance crews have once again shown their humanity by donating blood to critical patients. As per report, the patient named Upnidhi Dandasena of Barihafulpani village under Gaisilat block of Bargarh district was suffering from sickle cell disease and was undergoing treatment at the sub-divisional hospital Padmapur. As his condition deteriorated there, the doctor advised the patient’s relatives to immediately collect B-positive blood. But at the same time, due to the non-availability of blood from this blood group in the hospital blood bank, the relatives of the patient were worried. Aman Nayak, EMT of 108 ambulance at the right time, came to know about the patient’s blood requirement. Fortunately, his blood group was also B’positive. So without any further delay, he immediately came forward and donated blood. Similarly, in the same hospital, a person named Dukhishyam Seth of Dangchhacha village under Padmapur police station was suffering from anaemia and was undergoing treatment. As his condition deteriorated there, the doctor advised him to immediately collect the B-positive blood. But Saroj Kare, a 108 ambulance pilot, was an angel for the patient who could not get blood on time. When he came to know about this patient, he immediately came forward and donated blood.

Similarly, 108 ambulance EMT, Sushovan Panigrahi has given a new lease of life to another patient undergoing treatment for severe anaemia at Padmapur Hospital. As per incident, the 50-years-old patient named, Alita Bariha needed A-positive blood immediately. After getting the news about this, the ambulance crew came forward and saved the lives of the patients by donating blood. In a similar incident, a 26-year-old woman, Kokila Sagaria, a resident of Vela village in Nuapada district, was anaemic and was undergoing treatment at the Nuapada district headquarters hospital. As her condition deteriorated there, she urgently needed o’positive blood. Rupesh Majhi, EMT, 108 ambulance, who was present at the spot, immediately came to know about the patient’s blood requirement and immediately came forward and donated blood. Such humanity of the 108 ambulance crews has definitely become a boon for those patients.
