Dr Damodar Rout's family and friends as well as thousands of his followers and admirers celebrated his 76th Birthday on 14th December 2017.

 

The veteran and popular leader felt that he is as young as 36 years only. Dr Rout is the most controversial politician in Naveen Patnaik Government who is well-known for his caustic tongue. 

 

BJP’s senior leader Bijaya Mohapatra who was his political colleague and was Irrigation Minister of Odisha from 1990 to 1995 in the Biju Patnaik cabinet and  was a four time MLA from Patkura Constituency of Kendrapara district virtually sent shock waves among the BJP leaders and cares in the State by his unexpected presence and speech.


Bijaya made the celebration pretty after lauding Dama Babu’s success stories of 40 years political carrier being a MLA, minister and veteran anti Congress leader of the state and true follower of his mentor late Biju Patnaik. Ostensibly Dama Babu is oldest political leader of the state, he possess abundant political and administrative experiences that needs to be utilized for the development of Odisha, Bijaya revealed attending as a chief guest of the celebration.


Repeating Dr Rout's contribution to Paradip, Bijaya reiterated Dama Babu’s most primitive word that late Biju Babu had deployed him as a guard for protecting Paradip port and its industrial surroundings. The responsibility he has carried without a glitch till date but the veteran should see the unemployment scenarios of both Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada districts. In spite of several industrial houses have ventured to Paradip but our youths are being ignored getting employment so Dama Babu should work for this crisis in his last age,

 


Bijaya too claimed his Mahanadi river stand criticized BJP led NDA government in centre overlooking establishment of river tribunal to sort out the Mahanadi river row and viewed all political parties in state should united for protecting Odisha’s interest, he appealed.


BJD;s Paradip unit president Sumant Biswal chaired the birth day meeting attended by former minister Panchanana Kunongo, EX MP Pravat Samantray, municipality chairman Basant Biswal, trade union leader Sudhakar Mantry, BJD leaders Magu Charan Nayak, Kishori Parida .
