Rupees 200-crores marriage-party leaves 220 quintal waste: Impose marriage-tax and other measures to regulate and discourage mega-budgeted marriages
New Delhi,24/06/19:Media-reports indicate that high-profile weddings of brothers Suryakant and Shashank of South Africa based Gupta family with estimated spending of rupees 200 crores in Auli of Uttarakhand, left 220 quintals waste requiring 7-8 trucks daily for ten days to clear.
India should follow Afghanistan to curb mega-budgeted marriage-celebrations. Large-scale wastage of food-items in marriage-celebrations should be prevented by re-introducing Guest Control Order 1960 with only soft drinks and beverages allowed in such functions. Principle adopted by then Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit to boycott mega-budgeted functions should be an ideal for politicians cutting across party-lines. Marriage-tax should be imposed on marriage-celebrations exceeding say rupees five lakhs by one side as was suggested in a private-member bill introduced in Lok Sabha in February 2017.
Supreme Court directive on 12.07.2018 asking central government to consider making it compulsory for families to disclose wedding expenditure by both sides of the families of bride and groom jointly to the marriage officer concerned should be implemented. It will not only limit wasteful expenditure at times due to social bindings on marriages but also effectively check unaccounted money being spent on marriage-related functions apart from lodging false claims made by bride-side in case of marital-disputes and divorces.
It has become a trend to spend heavily on fancy boxes of wedding-invitation cards worth several thousands of rupees each which are practically of no use. Costly platters (with imported items where Indian substitutes are better and cheaper) and cash-envelopes from parents of brides should be banned through a legislative action in interest of society where this menace is causing problems especially in middle-class families. Introducing such measures will make people take birth of girl-child in family as boon rather than bane.

New Delhi,24/06/19:Central government deserves compliments to once again present bill to ban Triple Talaq in Parliament after the earlier passed bill on 27.12.2018 lapsed with dissolution of Lok Sabha. Government had incorporated all practical suggestions in the earlier-passed bill. Logic of maintenance for divorced wife and children in case of divorcing husband going to jail is meaningless because nobody should be sent to jail for any crime by this logic. Already several Muslim countries have banned Triple Talaq. If it was an interference in religious matters, then opposition should have cried for abolition of Dowry Act also.
Union government should now move further by banning multi-marriage by a Muslim man as a further step in welfare of Muslim-women. It is noteworthy that even most Islamic countries do not allow multi-marriages by men. At least it may be legislated that any non-Muslim adopting Islam may not be allowed to have more than one wife, because it is quite often that many non-Muslims including famous celebrities symbolically adopt Islam just for a day to have a second wife, which is a torture on first wife.
Ideal is to implement Uniform Civil Code where the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee once in Lok Sabha clarified that Uniform Civil Code does not mean law of majority community for all. Rather he emphasized that good aspects from all religions like compulsory consent of girl for marriage as per Islamic Law would be considered for an ideal Uniform Civil Code.

Employees And Their Legal Heirs Cheated By The Company with false assurance In Spite Of Depositing Money
Rayagada, June 23: Jeypore Sugar Company(JSCo) having its registered office now in Chennai, one of the oldest Companies of Odisha, was established in Rayagada during 1936. It then diversified into a distillery and ferro-manganese company. All these companies at Rayagada flourished and opened other branches in Andhra Pradesh. Many of the workers, who were very poor and instrumental in making the company highly profiteering, came from outside Rayagada. All of the workers rendered their service sincerely by working day and night to take the company to a new height.
The company became dysfunctional in eighties due to more focus in their Andhra counterparts. During the year 1992, the then Revenue Officer of Rayagada after inspection noticed JSCo to return 507 out of 787 acres of land under Land Ceiling Act. JSCo appealed the higher courts of Sub-divisional Magistrate and Additional District Magistrate who upheld the Revenue Officer’s order. JSCo then went to Odisha High Court where the matter is still pending. The state’s legal counsel is not appearing because of a nexus.
On last Friday, family members of three hundred ex-employees under the aegis of Retired Employees Union staged a blockade in front of JSCo main gate demanding land for housing purpose. “Being assured by the Company three hundred employees deposited Rs.300 each for a housing plot measuring 20 cents during 1971. We waited indefinitely. Since 1980 we have been requesting JSCo authorities to allot house sites in Khata number 46 with Plot numbers 284, 286/1 and 17. Responding to our request, during the year 1985 the MD deputed Sri Rama Chandra Rao, Civil Engineer, Chagallu for demarcation and preparing a lay-out plan. Thereafter she kept silent. Now many of those employees have expired. The remaining employees and the legal heirs of the deceased employees are toiling hard without the basic need of a house of their own. We even went to its registered office at Chennai several times to meet its MD Smt. Raja Rajeswari Rama Krishnan. But she refused meet us.
The above mentioned lands are not subject matter of ceiling case pending in Odisha High Court, Cuttack vide OJC No-2914/85 dated 16-09-1991 against J.S.Co. So for the Govt authorities it will not be difficult to settle those lands in our favour as homeless and landless persons. We have requested in written and approached in person to the concerned authorities of J.S.Co. time and again for the subject cited above. We also had a peaceful protest in front of the non-functioning factory at Rayagada. But unfortunately the management of JSCo has not paid any heed to our request and democratic means of protest”, said Advocate Sri Venkat Rao Senapati, Legal Advisor of the Ex-employees’ Union. Sri Venkat, a son of a retired employee, warned that if the company authorities do not heed to their single point demand, they will be compelled to lock JSCo’s main gate permanently and may go for blockade of Rayagada town.
Rayagada Tahsildar Sri Umashankar Sahu had a discussion with the protesters and assured them to take the matter to Advocate General of Odisha High Court for further necessary action.
Interestingly enough, the Manager of of Jeypore Rani Saheba said to this correspondent that the entire land of 787 acres belongs to Jeypore King and the lands were leased to JSCo. In connivance with the state revenue authorities JSCo has fraudulently managed to make ROR(Record of Rights) in its name. They are now preparing for a legal battle to restore the land in their name. They are also prepared to part the land in the development of Rayagada district including housing sites to the poor landless and ex-employees of JSCo.
Asserting the stake over the land by State Govt, Ex-employees, NCLT and now Jeypore Estate has made the issue very complex. If the issue is not resolved at the earliest it may lead to a sever law and order situation in the future.

HIGHLY IRRESPONSIBLE CONGRESS PRESIDENT: RSS IN NATIONAL INTEREST SHOULD EXPORT SOME VETERANS IN CONGRESS TO SAVE OLDEST NATIONAL POLITICAL PARTY FROM BECOMING EXTINCT
New Delhi,22/06/19:Even after worst defeat in recently held Lok Sabha elections, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has utterly failed in attaining political maturity even at the bachelor-age of just 49 years
Firstly he went on playing with his mobile-phone during speech of President on inaugural of budget-session of Parliament, like he earlier did while paying homage to martyred security-personnel of Pulwama. He again exhibited his high-insensitiveness to our brave forces through his highly objectionable tweet on Yoga-Diwas on 21.06.2019 where he made a fun of dog-squad of army doing Yoga with their dogs. Practically even army-dogs are more intelligent than the persons making fun of them.
Only a patriotic and strategic organisation like RSS can save oldest national party Congress from being extinct by tactfully inducing and exporting some of its intelligent veterans in this party, which is not impossible because of such an immature person in command of a private limited company engaged in money-minting political industry.
