Media Friend Devkumar No More.

CLOSE MEDIA FRIEND P. DEV KUMAR IS NO MORE.

Bhubaneswar,(06/06/2017):My dearest friend P. Dev Kumar is no more. This shocking news was passed on to me by my friend Mr Ramesh Parida, Editor of INDIA TV, today (6th June 2017) morning in the chat box of face book. Mr Parida reminded me that he was first introduced to me by Mr Dev Kumar who was the Bureau Chief of U.N.I. and Mr Paruda was with the Hindusthan Samachar.

Devkumar subsequently became my neighbour in Unit-3. He was also very close to my brother like Swarup Jena ( Kuni Bhai) whom he was calling "Kunia" and sharing many things with him.

Dev Kumar was a bachelor. When his marriage was fixed with a girl from Gujrat and was solemnised in Bhubaneswar, both Kuni Bhai and myself signed the marriage registration documents as witnessess.

Subsequently he was transferred to Delhi and remained busy with his assignments. But we were contnstly in touch over phone and whenever he was visiting Bhubaneswar after sad demise of Kuni Bhai he was spending much time with me, Barendra Bbau, Gopal Bhaina and our seniors like N.R, Swamy, N.K. Swamy, Balakrushna Kanungo etc. Though many of us were belonging to rival journalist unions, we aere one as far as professional works were cocerned. He was always treating me both as a close friend and younger brother.

Devkumar was the third son of Elababu and Kamalini of Berhampur, who had four sons and two daughters. All the brothers and sisters were highly educated and welplaced.
