Bhubaneswar,29/09/18:My most respected elder brother-like Nikhil Da has left for his heavenly abode in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi after prolonged illness.
I respected Nikhil Da while I was a student in Ravenshaw College, Cuttack and Nikhilda was having office of UNI at Gangamandir, Cuttack which was most favourite meeting place of politicians. Media persons, social activists, artists, literary person’s stage and film artists.
He guided me as an elder brother without any hesitation and always loved to speak with all in Bengali-Odia accent. He loved one and all and everybody reciprocated. He loved humor and use to create jokes with most with whom he was friendly. During my long association with him, I have learned many things from him personally, professionally and socially.
After his transfer to Delhi, I used to meet him at his office and to spend happy moments with him. He was very much attached to me and whenever he was meeting anybody from Odisha he used to ask about me and all our friends in Odisha.
During past two years we had lost Sunit Ghosh , who worked for Ananda Bazar Patrika group in Bhubaneswar,, Nikhil Chakravarty of the HINDU, P. Dev Kumar of U.N.I. who were very much attached to Odisha . Now with sad demise of Nikhilda only few young journalists from Odisha are left out to take care of interests of Odisha and its people as well as its heritage, art, literature , culture etc.
I pray almighty to rest Nikhilda's soul in peace under his lotus feet and to give enough strength to Boudi and their only daughter and grand children to face the world with courage to cherish his loving memory.
