Encourage world’s number-one game of football to make it most favourite game in India also

Monday, 16 July 2018 05:06 Written by

New Delhi,(16/07/18):Football-fever in the world is over with world-cup final match played at Moscow (Russia) on 15.07.2018 between France and Croatia. Football is most favourite game in the world leaving cricket much behind being placed at number-seven. India once held number-one position in Hockey too, but that also vanished with cricket monopolizing in India with cricketers earning enormously through crores of rupees given annually to individual cricketers by Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) as salary, match-money and award money apart from huge income from other sources like from advertisements.

It is a matter of concern that world’s second largest populated country India with a population of more than 130 crores does not figure anywhere in world’s most favourite game of football, while Croatia with just about with a small population of just about 43 lakhs managed to reach to world-cup final. It is time that a planned craze may be developed in Indians to make football and hockey also their favourite game like Cricket so that India may also one dream of winning world-cup final in football. Playing football is also otherwise is healthy requiring strong bodies and sharp mind unlike cricket which is more or less a game of chance.

Report;Rajesh Mohapatra,Odishabarta

Rourkela,This shocking announcement came from the greatest batsman ever; rather, we must say a ‘great sport person’ who took retirement from all formats of International cricket with immediate effect, came from his twitter accounts. He said “It is the time for others to take over”. This news has shocked the entire cricket fraternity and his fans present across the globe. He has carried a great personality and is known for his coolness and unique unorthodox cricketing shots. He has already played 123 Tests, 228 One-Day International and 78 T20 for South Africa. He scored 8765 runs in Test at an average of 50.66, 9577 runs in ODI with an average of 53.50 and 1672 runs inT20 at an average of 26.12. Altogether he had scored 47 centuries and 109 fifties which is stupendous and had performed excellent in IPL as well. This IPL was his fourth IPL edition and this year he was representing RCB but unfortunately RCB could not qualify for playoff. He had captained South African team for years together in ODI and in Test but in both formats he decided to quit captaincy, where decision was his personal one means he was a successful captain. He also holds many records including world’s fastest ODI 50, 100 and 150, the fastest Test century and fastest 50 in T20 by a South African. He started his cricketing career in International cricket in the year 2004 against England in Test and had debuted ODI in 2005. He joined South African Team as a Wicket-keeper/Batsman but with due course of time he has mended himself to a good fielder and an all-rounder. He married his girl friend Danielle Swart to whom he had proposed in the year 2012 at Taj Mahal in India. They got married in the year 2013 and is blessed with two sons, Abrham and John. In his earlier life he also represented his country in other sports, which shows his versatility. Undoubtedly he is the greatest cricketer ever, the same impression, Virat kohli, his intimate friend also carries.  Whenever he comes to ground the crowd becomes joyful because of his unique shots and his temperament. His untimely retirement is a great loss to International cricket. But he believes that the decision to leave cricket is appropriate when you are playing good and keeping yourself fit and fine.

It is a prestigious and money rich game, which engages many big companies in advertising but the ugly part of this, is Satta or betting that spoils the youth and encouraged crime in different area. City Rourkela is also the victim of this high profile game. Satta are going on openly in many places in Rourkela and Southern Rourkela. In the city the most affected areas are Few sector areas, Koelnagar, Basanti Colony, Timber colony. Mostly unemployed youths are taking part in this satta game to earn easy money the outcome is sometimes they earn huge and many times thy loose huge. Many dalals are managing this activity smartly and as per the sources this all is going on with the knowledge of police in some places. There is no restriction, youths are eating for the call of the price for the match to bet and it keeps on changing with games as per the strength of the team. Mostly popular team is Chhenai Super King and Sunrisers Hyederabad. Calls are very popular with also KKR team. Anyway these activities are continuous process and youths are quite happy with this activity. When the game starts, party begun with soft drinks, hard drinks and with snacks. This entertainment continues with food till the end of the game and the climax comes when the game ends. The winner goes happy and looser goes loosing heart. Sometimes young students are also getting involved in this foul play and they are stealing money and adopting unethical means to source money, which is a bad practice. And at this tender age if this habit becomes a regular affair then the future is bleak. Anyway in the past many intellectuals tried to stop this but consequences were negative and the police didn’t come out to help. This time at least police will look into this matter more seriously to stop the unethical practice will save the precious career of the youths in the city.
