London,14/07/19:England lifted their maiden ICC World Cup trophy after they won super over against New Zealand on boundary count at Lord’s stadium.
The thrilling final ended up in tie after England were all out for 241 in 50 overs. Ben Stokes scored 84 of 98 balls while Jos Buttler scored 59 of 60 balls.
Later, batting first in the super over New Zealand set a target of 16 runs. However, England managed to score 15 runs and won their maiden world cup by boundary count.
Earlier, New Zealand set a target of 242 for England to chase in the finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The match started 15 minutes late due to a wet outfield.
