DAV-SAVITRI JINDAL HIGH SCHOOL CELEBRATES 4TH ANNUAL SPORTS DAY AT JINDAL NAGAR Featured

Angul, 22/12/18:DAV-Savitri Jindal High-School celebrated its fourth Annual Sports Day with participation of young athletes in various sports activities on 20th December. Students from Class 1 to Class 10 competed in this colourful sporting event, cheered by hundreds of students, parents and local villagers. 

Attending the inaugural function as Chief Guest Chhanda Charan Das, Principal, OP Jindal School unveiled the mascot and declared the meet open.  Fakira Mohan Sahoo, School Head Master welcomed the guests, participants and parents for the event. 

Suresh Kumar Sharma, Vice-President of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd graced the occasion as Chief-Guest of the valedictory ceremony and handed over the prizes to winners and runner-ups of various events in presence of  Guest of Honor Mr. Asish Ranjan Mohanty, DGM- HR & ES of JSPL, Nishikanta Kar, Principal of TTPS NTPC  Public School, Suvendu Sekhar Bose, Head Master of TTPS High School, Ashutosh Mishra &Tapas Mohanty of CSR,  and other distinguished guests, parents and spectators from the periphery villages. 

Addressing the occasion, Sharma highlighted the importance of sports in a students’ life and asked them to practice the game of their choice to keep their physical and mental fitness. 

Around 300 boys and girls of the school participated in 42 different sporting competitions under the guidance of school sports teacher Krushna Kumar Das along with other teachers and volunteers. Other students cheered their preferred participants. 

School teachers Mrs. SmitaraniKhilar, Arnab Panda, Mrs. Arati Mahapatra, Mrs. Madhumita Sahu, Suryakant Baral conducted the event. Mrs. Deeptirekha Das accorded vote of thanks to one and all for their all-round support.
