Ganjam,(05/04/2017):Today at 1 am a police team led by IICs Rambha, Hinjili and Seragada were in a raid duty to apprehend the accused persons involved in Series of extortion and bombing cases at Hinjili and Seragada. The police party received a reliable information regarding movement of suspects in motor cycles in Poirasi, Chotabasa, Kainchapur, Khandadeuli area.
ACCOUNTANT CAUGHT BY VIGILANCE ON GRAFT CHARGE
Cuttack:On 05.04.2017, Sri Jiban Kumar Padhi, Accountant, O/o Lift Irrigation Division Office, Jobra, Cuttack was caught red handed by the Officers of Vigilance, Cell Division, while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.20,000/- from Sri Pradeepta Prakash Acharya, Managing Director, M/s Bikash Bharati Services Pvt. Ltd., Dumduma, Bhubaneswar for forwarding the bills amounting to Rs.20,00,000/- to the Executive Engineer, O/o Lift Irrigation Division Office, Jobra, Cuttack for necessary payment.Accordingly, a trap was laid on 05.04.2017 at about 12.00 Noon. The accused Sri Padhi, Accountant was caught red handed in his office room, while demanding & accepting bribe money of Rs.20,000/- from the Complt. The bribe money has been recovered from the possession of Sri Padhi. His hand wash gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe. His rented house near Shelter Chhack, Deula Sahi, SBI Colony Road, Cuttack is being searched.
Criminal case registered against IAS Officer.
CUTTACK, (06/04/2017): Partha Sarathi Mishra, IAS during his tenure as Managing Director, OSIC, Cuttack entered into criminal conspiracy with Ajit Kumar Padhi, Ex-DGM, Commercial Division,Santanu Kumar Tripathy, Joint Manager, Commercial Division and Sudhansu Sekhar Otta, Junior Manager, Commercial Division, all of OSIC, Cuttack, abused their official position and dishonestly issued appointment letters to 49 dealers in between February, 2016 to April, 2016 for sale of Tiscon rebar without obtaining no objection certificate from TSL (Tata Steel Ltd.), which is in contravention of the channel guide lines. In this connection Vigilance Cell, Cuttack P.S.Case No.07 dt.03.04.2017 has been registered against the above noted officials including 49 newly appointed dealers. The investigation of the case is in progress.

CUTTACK/SAMBALPUR, ( 06/04/2017):It is to intimate that on 05.04.17 at 5 P.M. reliable information was received that Antaryami Behera, Inspector-in-Charge, Loisingha Police Station, Dist. Bolangir will proceed to his native at Angul on 06.04.17 at about 5 A.M. morning with huge cash collected by him from illegal sources. In this connection Sambalpur Vigilance Station Diary No.63,Dt. 05.04.17 has been recorded and D.K.Kar,O.P.S., D.S.P., Vigilance, Subarnapur Unit was directed to intercept the vehicle with the assistance of other Vigilance Officials. Accordingly, D.K.Kar, O.P.S., D.S.P., Vigilance, Subarnapur Unit, R.N.Patra, O.P.S., D.S.P., Vigilance, Bargarh Unit, S.K.Mohapatra, Inspector, Vigilance, Bolangir Unit and R.K.Sai, Inspector, Vigilance, Bargarh Unit intercepted the Car bearing No. OR-03-G-3420 Maruti Suzuki Swift ahead Mahanadi Bridge (Binika-Ullunda Road) near Chadaipank. Sri Behera along with Driver and another person were present in the Car. On verification cash of Rs. 4,60,300/- was found of different denominations of Rs. 2,000/-, Rs. 500/- and Rs. 100/- in a rexzin carry bag.

Cuttack,(07/04/2017):Perceiving the significance of reception centres (RCs) in the police stations throughout the state, Director General of Police (DGP) KB Singh has ordered the district Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) to make the RCs effective, efficient and people-friendly.

AT Chief Pradip Sethi Qaidi No.6 in Jail
Bhubaneswar,(07/04/2017):While Special CBI Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court sentenced jail terms to Ponzi firm Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chief Pradip Sethi and another director of the Group Manoj Patnaik yesterday for defrauding depositors of their money, charges could not be framed against 21 other accused today.
The framing of charges could not take place as some accused filed time petitions while some others filed discharge petitions.
ASI OF POLICE ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE ON GRAFT CHARGE
